Question
I’m married, and I’ve two kids As my husband was too angry on me, and he said I divorce you 3 times At a time he said I divorce you I divorce you I divorce you just like that But after one day we intimate Please I want clarification that divorce has been done or not?
Answer
I divorce you are clear words and there is no hidden meaning in these. If the husband has said divorce three times, then this is final and irrevocable divorce. The woman becomes haraam after that and will be like a stranger. Being intimate after that will amount to committing adultery or Zina. It is fardh upon you to separate from each other and seek repentance from what has already happened through Istighfaar.
Giving all three divorces together is against Sunnah and is a sin, however it still will be established as mentioned in Fatawa e Shamia(2/33)(Fatawa Alamgeeri , Kitab ut Talaaq, Al Talaaq ul Bid’ee. 1/349)
