Question: What are the ruling on eating and drinking in the masjid?

Answer

Eating and drinking in Masjid is makrooh and disliked for a person who is not in state of aitekaaf in the masjid. So, if someone wants to eat or drink in the masjid, he should do the niyyat (Intention) of nafl aitekaaf.

ويكره النوم والأكل فيه لغير المعتكف، وإذا أراد أن يفعل ذلك ينبغي أن ينوي الاعتكاف فيدخل فيه ويذكر الله تعالى بقدر ما نوى أو يصلي ثم يفعل ما شاء، كذا في السراجية
